In this book, we investigate the mechanisms around referencing in academia and the practice of visual communication. We believe that references and referencing, as political objects and actions, have a big part to play in making our industry open up to become more inclusive and diverse. By connecting the dots between different researchers and design practitioners, we learn to navigate and swim our way through the pool of various concepts and theories. It is Not a Reference Yet, but we’re hoping maybe one day it could be.
